In the A8, if you took a corner hard enough, sometimes water would spray onto your feet. I took this as a sign that the evaporator box wasn’t draining.

After accessing the drain tubes on both sides of the center console, I found they were completely clogged with sediment. Like, not even compressed air would’ve unclogged these things. On top of that, water was everywhere. The surrounding insulation is/was completely soaked in A/C evap water too. Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu....
As well, if that weren’t enough, there WAS a nail in right rear tire. Now, thats got a little bit of a leak (even with a temporary plug). $143 for a continental procontact tire. Damnit.

You are incorrect. That is the foot sprayer feature that was intentionally conceived by German engineers to service those who needed foot refreshment.

In my friend’s 2001 A8, the ends of the evaporator drains have an autopinching shut configuration. This does not promote anything solid from passing on through and helps clog up the entire tube.

Yep thats exactly the way these drain tubes are deigned. Mine is a 2001 as well.
It is also lovely how audi put a bunch of relays and main fuse panel in the same area on the passenger side floorboard too.
